A monthly shipment of play-to-learn activities made by me, shipped to you.
All activities are minimal prep as I will ship them to you as ready to go as possible (although you may need to add in some household materials such as trays, tweezers, measuring spoons, paint, etc. to make the activity more successful). A lesson plan will be included with directions on how to set up and use each activity. A list of the extra items needed will also be included.
What is it?
Why do I need it?
It is important for brain development that children are allowed the opportunity to learn through play.
Play allows children to use their creativity-while developing their imagination & dexterity, as well as their physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. Play is important to healthy brain development. It is through play that children, at a very early age, engage and interact in the world around them. You are setting them up for success before they ever step foot into a classroom. This is also a great opportunity for caregiver/child interaction.
Who is it for?
Little learners one to five years old.
This plan will benefit children between 1-5 years old the most. (Some activities provided are not made to be used the same for a 1-year-old as they are a 3 or 5-year-old.) The direction sheets include some scaffolding (variation) of ideas on how to engage with different ages.
You will receive a package with a minimum of 10 activities. These activities will target fine motor, gross motor, early literacy, cognitive, social emotional skills, art, music, and sensory development. Also included will be a direction sheet, rationales (so you know what your learner is gaining by doing each activity), and a list of anything extra that is needed in order to make your activities successful. My goal is to ship as much to you as possible, without you having to do a lot of prep. (Sometimes this won’t be cost effective, and you will need to add some household items.)

Each monthly package is enough for one little learner. However, not all activities require extra resources, so this is perfect for small or large groups if you set them up as centers/stations.
I have included a way to add on extra learners on my Shopify website for those activities that will require extra materials.
About Me
Hi! I'm Mrs. Platt!
My name is Amanda Platt. I am 34 years old and I hold a teaching degree in Elementary Education. I taught kindergarten and 1st grade for over half a decade! I am married. to my husband of 9 years and stay at home with our 3 children.
I love to watch my kids learn and go through the different development stages. I feel blessed to be a part of their growth, both at home and through my part time job. I serve as the Learn and Play facilitator in my county through Russell Child Development Center in Southwest Kansas; which is a grant funded free program offered to each of the 29 sites located in the 19 counties they serve. . I am able to see the benefits of learning through play with my own children through this . I have gained an understanding of their needs, current schemas, and am able to monitor them developmentally and social/emotionally.
The monthly box I am offering you is what I have been doing for three years on a bi-weekly basis through my part time job. I want others outside reach of these 19 counties to have the opportunity to participate in a similar experience.
